Dominique Cormier PT is a licensed physiotherapist
Originally from Moncton, Dominique graduated from the University of Moncton with a bachelor’s degree in science in three concentrations: biology, biochemistry and kinesiology. She then pursued her studies at the University of Ottawa for her master’s degree in Physiotherapy and received the honorary ‘Monique Breau prize for excellence in community contribution’. After her studies, she decided to start her career in Montreal where she gained experience and knowledge in a public and private setting. In 2021, she decided to move back in her hometown of Moncton NB to be closer to her family and open her practice here.
She has experience in acute or chronic musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, post acute or chronic burn injuries, vestibular and pelvic floor dysfunctions to name a few.
She was introduced to pelvic floor rehabilitation in 2018, where she worked closely with a multidisciplinary team to help treat acute or chronic genital or pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, constipation and bowel dysfunction for women and men patients in a Rehab Center. In the last 3 years, she has decided to work part time at a private clinic to help and treat birth preparation and postpartum care in women’s pregnancies, post transgendered surgeries and non-binary patients. During this time, she gained knowledge in organ prolapses, C-section rehab, diastasic recti rehab, pain management, urinary/bowel incontinence and offered tools to find a balanced lifestyle.
Dominique loves educational opportunities and enjoys challenges. Her goal is to give guidance and treatment to her clients to help achieve an optimal recovery. To gain a holistic vision and approach, she studied in a yoga teaching training program. The many philosophies of yoga inspire her and she tries to incorporate them in her daily living. She’s looking forward to helping her patients in their rehabilitation.
